Walk with a Doc Los Altos: Free Community Mental Health Walks

Walk with a Doc Los Altos: A Step Toward Better Mental Health

Are you looking for a simple, accessible way to improve your physical well-being and mental health in the Silicon Valley Foothills? ARC (Achieving Resilience Through Connection) is thrilled to announce our newest community initiative: Walk with a Doc Los Altos.

In partnership with Growing Minds Mental Health Services and the international Walk With A Doc non-profit organization, we are bringing free, guided nature walks directly to our local community.

What to Expect on Our Community Walks

Walk with a Doc is a health-focused initiative that brings medical professionals and community members together to walk, talk, and build healthy habits. Each monthly event begins with a brief, five-minute presentation by a local healthcare provider on an accessible wellness topic.

Afterward, participants walk at their own pace, enjoying the outdoors and socializing in a low-stress environment. For our Walk with a Doc Los Altos chapter, we are deeply focused on the intersection of physical movement and mental wellness.

Meet Your Walk Leader: Dr. Yang Xu

Our walks are proudly led by Dr. Yang Xu, a dedicated psychiatrist from Growing Minds. Dr. Xu brings a wealth of expertise on how physical activity, outdoor environments, and community connection can naturally lower cortisol levels, reduce anxiety, and combat isolation.

During the walk, you will have the unique opportunity to chat casually with Dr. Xu and other mental health advocates while enjoying the beautiful local trails.
